Following Katelyn's Growth

My friend Kim got these really cool stickers for me for my shower... they range from 0 - 12 so we can take pics of her every month and document her growth, age, etc! I think it is the coolest idea so here we are from 0 to 1 month old!

Could use some ideas...

My sweet Katelyn loves her swing now... she is starting to notice her surroundings more and I love just staring at her as she just absorbs her new world!

I thought it was really funny as my friend Vicky gave me the swing above when I had Daniel and this past Sunday she gave me this cool Cars Chair for Daniel... so, she has hooked both of my kids up with chairs that they LOVE! Daniel is so cute as he takes his chair and pulls it up to Brendon and says, "Dad, let's talk." They will literally sit and talk for a good 15 - 20 minutes about EVERYTHING! It is the cutest thing ever... I asked him to "talk" to me and he says, "No" so I think they have a very special Father/ Son bond=)

The outfit was put together by Daniel... please notice the socks and shoes too! LOL!

So... I could use some ideas on how to keep a 2.5 year old entertained... 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week! He is a total social butterfly who doesn't necessarily like to play alone. He is incredibly smart so he has to be stimulated constantly or he gets bored quickly! I love playing with him but there are things that I have to get done in my day and he loves to help me with the daily chores but I am really struggling with keeping him entertained. He does start pre-school this Fall so hopefully that will help a little! I am very excited about our pre-school adventure we are going on... I will blog about it later so stay tuned=)

Right now, he is into imaginative play... so, we play in the "kitchen" a lot... cooking, shopping, eating, feeding babies, washing dishes, etc!

Tuesday morning, he was at Leigh Anne's house and she warned me that they had a fun morning and he was really tired... so, I brought him home to give him lunch and as I was nursing Katelyn, I looked over at him and this is what I saw!

Tuesday night, we had some teenagers over at our house and Daniel was in HEAVEN! I think all young kids LOVE teenagers and just look up to them and Daniel is no exception!

Wednesday, we had a park play date with some friends... Brayden and Daniel are racing motorcycles down the slides!

Thursday morning we went to the splash pad with some friends... the weather has been so amazing so it has been so refreshing being outside!

Friday night, I got to go on a much needed date with my husband... it was sooo nice to just connect for a whole night... sometimes, we look at each other and can't believe we are grown ups...we still feel like teenagers/ college students! We have known each other for so long that we basically have grown up together and we just look at each other and say... can you believe we are parents, own a house, pay bills... haha!

Tonight, we went to our neighbors house for a graduation party... I wouldn't say that our neighborhood is a close community but our next door neighbors and the neighbors that live across the street from us are all very close. I think quality is better than quantity anyway so we really appreciate them!

Mother's Day Brunch 2010

Well, I have been looking forward to this day since the day that I found out I was having a little girl... Mother's Day and our church's Mother's Day Brunch! It was at Seville Country Club and my two dear friends did a hysterical skit!

Below are some pics that I took of her at home.... after these pictures, I kept on seeing the show, "Toddlers and Tiaras" popping up in my head so I changed her into a onesie and let her chill the rest of the day in comfortable/ normal clothes! LOL!

Katelyn, you are sooo beautiful.... mommy's heart skips a beat when I see you... when I cuddle and squeeze your little body... I think, "Life just doesn't get any better than this!" Someone once told me, "Every time I hold a baby, it is just so healing." I couldn't agree more... something so warm comes over my soul, my spirit, my heart when I hold you that is so refreshing, so comforting and lets me know that all is well! I love you!

Friday Night @ Organ Stop Pizza!

My parents have some guests in town from Michigan and they thought that Organ Stop would be a fun dinner place and invited us to come along... DANIEL LOVED IT! Seriously, his facial expressions made my heart just overflow with joy because he was soooo blown away!

Unfortunately, this place is a little dark and my flash wasn't on so the pictures are horrible... and these few are the best I have=(

So... he is sitting here eating pizza and what happens.....


An organ starts rising from the floor right in front of him along with all of the other musical instruments on the wall come alive and his amazement and awe was breath taking!

One of his favorite songs was The Little Mermaid song because the whole room filled with BUBBLES!

Mommy LOVED that they played TWO songs from Grease... My FAVORITE movie EVER!

3 weeks

So, last Monday... Katelyn turned 3 weeks and we went to Jackson's 2nd B-day Party! The cake was inside the wagon and all the kids were oohhhing and aaahhhhing over it!

It was pirate themed and Jessica did such a cute scavenger hunt for all of the mates!

This past Sunday, two ladies made us all of this food! They are graduates of a great culinary school and owned a restaurant... I feel so blessed as Katelyn turned 1 month today and I have yet to cook a meal since her birth!

That Sunday afternoon, Daniel (aka Picasso) had some fun!

Monday, we went with our church play group to Toy Town... Daniel loves the dress up room!

Katelyn already has a friend... Miss E and she is 4.5 weeks older than Katelyn!

Wednesday... Katelyn turned 4 weeks old and we went to the San Tan Splash Pad with a playgroup and hit up Orange Julius... I haven't had one of those since I was a little girl and it brought back the best memories! No camera that day! But Katelyn has a little friend in that playgroup too... she is 1 week older than Katelyn!

I also went to the dentist... I got some crazy cavities due to my pregnancy with Daniel and this time, my teeth are PERFECT! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday... Katelyn went to her 1 month check up and she weighed in at 9.11 pounds! I feel like a total rock star mom because I have to take credit for all 2 pounds she put on=)

So, she has totally changed my life (when does a baby not change your life!?!?)... she started smiling at me in the last week or two and every single time she does... I totally ruin my makeup because my eyes can't help but swell up with tears of joy!

Everyone wants to know how Daniel is doing... he LOVES his sister! I overheard him telling her the other day... Katelyn, just TALK to me! He so badly wants to interact with her and wants to play with her and he is so nurturing with her! He loves us and is not mad with us but he is highly emotional! Very high highs and very low lows!

Katelyn is an incredible sleeper... she has slept for 6 - 7 hours at night then wakes up for the sweetest nursing session around 4AM and then goes back down for another 3 hours of beauty sleep!

So, the only negative that we are facing right now is that we have spoiled her rotten... I know she is only 1 month and we have already turned her into a DIVA! Brendon and I realize how quickly they grow up and so we have held her every minute of the day and guess who NEVER wants to be put down??? I discussed this with her doctor and he gave me some suggestions... so far, they are working great!

She only likes her car seat 50% of the time so we LOVE the Moby Wrap... I don't know what I do without it!

Well, guess who wants to be picked up??? Katelyn is calling for me!
