Spring Break... Week #2

*** Just a note... Spring Break - Week 1 is a post that got buried so you will have to go back to some way older posts because I started it a long time ago but I never finished it so it got buried with newer posts=)

Once again, we didn't do much this week.... Monday we had plans to go to the zoo or meet some friends at a park but it rained the whole day!

So, Wednesday we met up with my friend Kim again because her daughter was on Spring Break for two weeks too. They came over.... Kim loves taking photographs so she took some of Katelyn as her 1 year photos and I loved how they turned out! Then we took the kids to Chick-fil-a and just had a fun afternoon.

Katelyn loves crawling through things... we have a tunnel in their playroom and she loves crawling through it. Daniel was completely opposite as a baby... he HATED going through tunnels! So, here she is discovering she can crawl through her exercauser!

So, Thursday we met up with Christie and Logan at the park because he was having his 4th birthday party on Saturday but Daniel wasn't going to be able to make it because he was going to be going camping with Brendon for the 1st time! We had a "mini" birthday party at the park and that made for a fun afternoon too!

When I got home from work on Friday, Brendon and Daniel headed out to go camping with some friends and Katelyn and I had "girl" time at home!

So, I taught her about her babies! I showed her that her baby had a bed and we put the baby to bed and said, "Night! Night!" Then Katelyn did the funniest thing EVER... she tried to take the baby out of its bed and roll herself into it! Thankfully my camera was right next to me so I could grab some pictures of this!

She managed to get herself into the babies' bed... LOL! If you remember back to a really old post, then you know this is the doll that I gave to Daniel right before Katelyn was born so he could have his "own" baby and I had found our dog Max curled up inside this baby's bed once! This baby's bed must be super comfortable for everyone to be fighting for it!

Then we spent the rest of the weekend getting things together for her 1st Birthday Party which was the following weekend! Here she is playing with some Easter Eggs!

City Fest!

This was a REALLY Fun Saturday!

First of all... my family (Mom, Dad, Phillip, Leigh Anne and Aaron) had planned a surprise Birthday Breakfast for me at a new breakfast place that I had never been to before... it is in downtown Chandler called "Brunchies." They thought they were being clever by doing it a couple of weeks early... so fun and if you know me then you know my favorite meal of the day is breakfast!

Then we decided that we would take the Phoenix Light Rail for the 1st time... Daniel is really into trains again and we thought he would love the experience.

Waiting on our train to come....

Where were we going? CityFest! Daniel loves Veggie Tales and they were going to be having a live show so he was super excited! In fact, he sang the Veggie Tales theme song a billion times on the way!

Love this picture of Daniel and my brother... he so looks up to Phillip and I love how he is looking up to Phillip and laughing!

Train Ride!

So, we get to City Fest... needless to say, we had the time wrong for the Veggie Tales show and we got there right as it ended! Oh my gosh! I thought I was going to loose it... how was I going to break this news to Daniel? Brendon who was on a committee for the planning of this event found some people who were in charge and made a suggestion that Larry the Cucumber and Bob the Tomato should come out for a meet & greet and thankfully they agreed! Daddy our Hero!=)

So, below is Bob and Larry's Break Room... how adorable!

Then what happens? After EVERYTHING that we went through to give Daniel the opportunity to meet LARRY THE CUCUMBER LIVE... he freaks out and has a melt down!!! urrgghhhh!!!!

Wait until you hear about our Easter Bunny melt down experience at Chandler Fashion Mall??????? =)

But there was something at City Fest that Daniel LOVED!!!!

These motorbikes were doing flips in the air... the riders would come off the bikes in the air then get back on and land! IT WAS CRAZY AWESOME!!!!!!! I loved seeing Daniel's face and his reaction - priceless!

Daddy loved this too!

Then we ended our great Saturday by Brendon taking us to Five Guys for dinner... I had never been to one before and it is AMAZING! If you like In-N-Out then you will LOVE Five Guys!

Mommy's Lil' Helper!

She was kind of being my helper.... I was loading the dishwasher and she was unloading!!!

Daniel knows he is not allowed to do that... he does help me unload the dishwasher and put everything back but he saw that I wasn't correcting Katelyn so he decided I am going to join in on the fun too!!!

Mom, where does this go?

Their Wheels.

Katelyn loooooooooooovvvvvvveeess this car! One good thing about being born after the 1st child is you get to inherit lots of fun toys! It took us a while to build a cool toy collection with Daniel but Katelyn immediately got all kinds of cool things!

Daniel got this car for his 1st birthday from our playgroup... our playgroup does a really cool thing... we all do a big group gift that is valued at $75. He also got this slide/ playhouse that is in our playroom and it is another of K's favorite toys!

Daniel LOVES his bike... so since the weather is so nice, we try to go on walks often... sometimes I pack up our lunch and off we go to the park for a picnic!

Then we head home and they take a nice long nap... just lovely (I love this word!)

ELEVEN!

First some pictures of my 3.5 year old cutie patutie!

Every child is truly a blessing from God!

Then I decided to plop Katelyn in the grass and see what she thought of it... she didn't know what she thought about it. One minute she loved it... the next minute, well... not so much!

Our grass is beautiful! My husband has always done an incredible job at taking care of our lawn but it was just eating too much precious family time on the weekends so we hired Andy... let's just say that he is doing a freakin' amazing job!

I was reading them a book the other night and Daniel put his arm around Katelyn and said, "You are my angel!" After I picked myself up off the ground from melting in a puddle... I thought these two are going to have a beautiful lifelong relationship.

The other day I had them in a cart at Sprouts... these two little pre-school age girls were talking about Katelyn and to Katelyn just like any average little girl loves a cute baby.... all of a sudden Daniel took notice that they were engaging his sister so he decided that he need to stand up and put his hands around her like the Big Brother Cub and announce to these little girls that this was HIS sister... their mom noticed Daniel's protective stand and thought the little girls had said something bad or did something aggressive to Katelyn but in a kind of embarrassing but kind of proud way, I just said that she has a VERY OVERPROTECTIVE brother!

The other night at dinner, Daniel said, "Katelyn and me are married! You and Daddy are married and I marry Katelyn... we love each other too!" Brendon looked at me and said, "I would love to hear how you are going to explain this one to him!" So I said, "You can't marry your sister... she is your sister not your wife. You know Daddy has a sister Leigh Anne and Katelyn is your sister." That seemed to do it!

On Becoming 30....

So... I just started reading a blog that a friend of mine writes... we knew each other from college and have probably not talked since then but I saw her blog on Facebook, checked it out and LOVE it! She also just turned 30 and this is what she had to say. She has a way with words so I will use her words to describe how I feel:) and my personalization is in brackets... LOL!

I'm turning (turned) 30 tomorrow (last week).
Thirty!!!!!
The Lord has been flooding my heart and mind with reflection down to the smallest details and memories.
Examination. It's beautiful, it's challenging, it's life giving.
I've come up with various answers and responses to my pondering.
A lot I don't know. A few things I do know are certain.

One, my Father loves me. I am His beloved. He is a Father to the fatherless. He is the extender of love, life, grace, and joy. I need Him.
Two, I am in love with my husband. He's just plain dreamy to me. He loves me well and pursues me with honor. I am in awe of his patience and love for me. I want a husband like him for my girls (girl) some day.

Three, I adore my little girls (girl and boy). There is nothing better than the first minute I laid eyes on each of them. I thought my heart was going to burst with love and joy. There's nothing better than their newborn snuggles, their baby coos and cuddles, their toddler giggles, and their little girl (boy) voices and embraces.

I'm turning 30.
I'm the soccer mom with the suburban (Hyundai), constant coffee mug in hand, with desires to buy the tacky Easter bunny wreath and be the cliche that stays in her sweats (jeans) all day while folding laundry and watching her lovies play.
I'm the cook (working on this one!), the wife, the one with the fussing kids in the grocery store check out line.
I search for coupons (I wish I had more time for this!), pour my littles milk, change hundreds of diapers...
...this is my life.
And I love it and couldn't ask for more!

So here I am, heart swirling with emotion and excitement from the night's gathering (multiple celebrations!). My house is quiet, everyone is soundly dreaming. Here I sit, a woman joyfully grateful and blessed. As they all sleep, I thank the Father for His blessings over my life.
Thirty is going to be lovely!

Happy Birthday to ME!

I had to post this... my Mother in Law is amazing at writing poetry... she sent this to me today:

THIRTY YEARS AGO!

Thirty years ago was born the cutest little girl.

And, oh my, everyone was in a twirl.

For she so endearing was, you see,

Planning already to stunning and dynamic be.

Whatever she set her mind to would only of excellence be;

Even a teen financial wizard in New York was she!

Money markets were not too daunting I tell you,

Nor was a long distance romance conducted from ORU!

Then the most beautiful and radiant bride you ever did see

As she floated down the aisle to her handsome man to be.

Hands and hearts they joined together in holy matrimony

Forever together and happy to be.

Now the patter of little feet

And squeals of laughter this picture does complete.

Fairest maiden of all, may you now be so blessed,

And always in the arms of sweet Jesus find rest.
