Playtime!

Katelyn's favorite toy by far is her baby! She loves being a mommy! She feeds them, sings to them, bounces them, pats them, puts them to bed, and as of today started nursing them!

She is absolutely obsessed with this slide! She knows how to go up the stairs or just climb up the slide... it scares me to death but this girl is completely fearless!

I was wanting to get a picture of Katelyn going through the tunnel because she LOVES that too but Daniel thought he would be silly:)

This is one of Daniel's "Pre-School" books that he loves but this is where he gets a taste of what it is like to have a little sister because guess who else REALLY likes this book???

She also loves to color! So, she thinks this is a coloring book of Elmo and let's just say that Daniel is EXTREMELY gracious with her... well, most of the time! LOL!

Lastly, she loves this Dinosaur that you drop balls into it... she plays with this FOREVER!

I absolutely love playtime with my kids... in my fantasy world, I would have no other responsibilities except to sit in the floor with them totally uninterrupted and play with them all day, every day!

Still Catching Up... LOL!

My friend Mary invited us over for a HOUSE PARTY... she had been chosen for some Green Products. Basically you can apply for one of these and if you get selected, they send you a whole bunch of samples then you invite your friends over and hand out a whole bunch of free stuff that the company sends you! It was a lot of fun!

Katelyn had some cute boys to play with:)

That night some of my friends took me Downtown Chandler to Latitude Eight for my birthday! At the end of the night, every muscle in my mouth hurt from laughing so hard! We had soooo much fun! Thanks, girls!

Then Saturday Morning it was SOCCER!

My friend Mary and her sweet baby!

The coach decided to bribe the kids with silly bands to get them to score more goals... apparently, it worked because Daniel was requesting his silly band!

The below picture totally describes 3 year old soccer... each coach has a kid in their arms while coaching... LOL!

Of course, family was there to cheer our Daniel on!

Ciou!

Happenings.

I have mentioned before Katelyn's obsession with makeup! She loves it! One afternoon, I was changing into my gym clothes and rushing out of the house to get to my class and guess who got into my lipstick????

The crazy thing is that at 12 months old, this girl knew EXACTLY what to do with the lipstick! She put it on her lips... well, kind of! I started to wipe it off then I thought it was so cute that I should grab my camera before I finished cleaning her off!

The girls at the gym who watch her thought it was hilarious! They told me that if she is starting this young then I have my hands full!

My friend Kendra is absolutely AMAZING in the kitchen... she actually goes into the kitchen and makes something to relax! The kitchen typically does the complete opposite to me... LOL! So she found this amazing coffee cake recipe and she invited me over to make one with her! Let's just say it was SOOOO Delicious! We got to catch up on life and have lots of fun... thank you so much, Kendra, for a great night! (We also made fresh, homemade strawberry jam!!!)

Have I mentioned that I have an obsession with magazine subscriptions? I don't think it was coincidental but the next afternoon when I checked the mail... all of these magazines were in my mailbox! You could not ask for a better afternoon... Delicious Coffee Cake from scratch, fresh coffee and a stack of "hot off the press" magazines and 2 napping angels!

To end the post, here are some pictures of my cuties playing around the house!

Daniel got a ball pit for his 1st birthday and he loved it... he played with it all the time but last year he played with it too hard and it got a hole in it. So, we took the balls and put them in an extra inflatable pool that we had but it didn't work... so, Katelyn got a new ball pit for her birthday.

Good Night, Friends All Over!

My husband NEVER ceases to AMAZE me!

So.... several weeks ago, Brendon sent me a calendar request for a surprise get-a-way for Friday and Saturday night of my "birthday week." Immediately, I called him and asked how he thought this was going to work out being that our daughter is completely obsessed with nursing and 100% addicted! He said, "Please do not ask any questions... it is all taken care of and you will only be 45 minutes away in case of an emergency." I was still nervous... not so much for Katelyn but whoever was going to take care of her.... afraid they would go crazy with a completely out of control baby!

Anyway, I was told to be ready by 1PM on Friday.... my wonderful SIL and BIL came over to watch the kids and Brendon escorted me to our driveway which had a convertible Mini Cooper in it! I was totally shocked! Our neighbors had just bought it as there 3rd "fun" car but a week later found out they were pregnant and generously told Brendon to take it as she doesn't fit into it very comfortable now:)

Still have no idea where we were going until we pulled into The Westin Kierland Resort and Spa!

Views from our Room!

So, I was sitting on the couch in our hotel room waiting for the Bellman to bring our bags and Brendon tells me to come sit on the bed and close my eyes.... when I open my eyes, the whole bed is covered in ca$h!!!!!!!!!! I was like... WHAT THE HECK????? Did you rob a bank? He said all this money is for you to spend on yourself any way you want but every single dollar has to be gone by the time we leave tomorrow! The only rules are that you cannot buy anything for the kids or for me or for the house... it can only be for you!!!!!!!!! He had taken a consulting job a couple of months ago that I didn't know about and that is how he pulled this whole thing off without me seeing any money leaving any of our accounts... he is brilliant!

Then he told me that he had made reservations at two very nice restaurants and proceeded to show me pictures, video and reviews for both places so that I could decide which one I wanted to go to... yes! I am that high maintenance when it comes to choosing restaurants! I had heard about this restaurant http://www.sassi.biz/restaurant/photo-gallery.php and really wanted to go so this is the one that I chose and it was AMAZING! The service was phenomenal... I love when two servers wait on your table and the food was OUTSTANDING! My mouth is watering right now thinking about it!

After dinner, we hung out at the resort... it was the perfect weather that night and we didn't have to worry about the kids because it was just the two of us! It was just awesome!

The next morning we slept in....ahhhhh!!! Lovely! Then we went for a nice, leisurely breakfast then it was SHOPPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously, my husband never ceases to amaze me in his creativity and his incredible love for me! I am one very lucky girl! After 7 years of marriage, he still makes me feel so special and shows me how much he values me! I love you and thank you so much for the best birthday weekend!

Fire Station Field Trip/ K's "Real" Bday

On Thursday, Daniel's Pre-School had a field trip to the fire station... these trips are always optional for parents to go on but so far, I have been able to make all of his school functions and they are always a blast! Unfortunately, this is the only picture that I got because my camera battery went dead=(

Since it was Katelyn's "Real" 1st Birthday, we gave her some presents from us and my sister and BIL... my parents and brother also came over for cupcakes, etc. We used Facetime on our iPhones so that my Amanda and Christopher could see Katelyn getting her special gift!

I am reserving a special time that I can write Katelyn her own 1 year Birthday post so this post won't be dedicated to that:)

Splash Pad

Tuesday night... Brendon and the kids took me out to dinner for my birthday... we celebrate for a good solid week around the Wilson House when it comes to Birthdays! LOL!

The beginning of April means that the City of Chandler turns on the Splash Pads... yeah! So, Wednesday we called some friends to head to Chuparosa Park to enjoy the Splash Pad.... except that it rained off and on the whole day and it wasn't that hot... but did the kids care??? Of course not! They had a blast!!!

I really didn't think the kids were going to go in the Splash Pad so I didn't even bring Daniel's swim shorts! Poor guy just went in his shirt and undies! Now I am prepared... I put together a bag to keep in my car that has swim suits for both kids, swim diaper for K, sun hats, towels, sun screen, etc so we are never stuck again! =) This is kind of a necessity when you like in Arizona as you never know when your kids are going to go swimming or have an opportunity to get wet!

Bring on the summer... we are so ready for you!

Most Precious Brother/ Sister Story

When Katelyn had her 12 month well check up, it is a routine test for them to prick the baby's finger and check for anemia (iron deficiency) in the doctor's office. Unfortunately, the level needs to be over 11 and Katelyn's was 10.2. The pediatrician's office is not a blood lab so they know their tests are not completely accurate so they send you to a lab for an "official" test. Worse case scenario is that if she is anemic, then she has to go on iron supplement for 30 days then go back to the lab to be tested to see if her levels have gone up. I was anemic in college and my mom was anemic in her younger years... neither one of us are now so I am not really worried. However, the more likely scenario is that the lab test will show she is fine.

Anyway, I picked Daniel up from pre-school today and told him we had to take Katelyn to the lab to get a little shot.
He completely starts protesting.... "Please mommy, take me to Grandma's house!"
Me: "No, Daniel, she is at the church today."
Daniel: "Take me to Leigh Anne's house!"
Me: Daniel, this will take 5 minutes and we will be done then it is nap time.
Daniel: I can't watch my sister cry!
Me: Maybe she won't cry...
Daniel: Shots hurt and little babies cry... mom, it is going to make me very upset!
Me: I am sorry Daniel but we need to support her... she needs mommy and her big brother to be there for her.

So, we enter the lab (I know a secret Sonora Lab where it is always empty and only elderly people go there so they LOVE it when I take my kids!) and 2 ladies take us into the room.

Daniel: Can I stand in the hallway? Mom, I really cannot watch this.
Me: Sure, just stand where I can see you (because I had Katelyn on my lap)

So, the tech's put the rubber bands really tight around her arm and she starts crying then we hear Daniel say, "It is okay, Katelyn!" And the entire time they drew 2 containers of blood from her, he sang her favorite song from the hallway. Even through her tears, she turned her head often to watch him.

This is a story I want to tell them one day so they can know that they have always been there for each other!
