We ended the day with swimming and a cook out! Great family times!

4th of July Lunch!
I don't think the Fourth of July has EVER fallen on a Sunday before in my lifetime... maybe but I don't remember it! After church, our whole family had lunch at Rigatony's (one of our favorite Italian joints in Phoenix!) Katelyn looked soooooooooooooooo adorable that we got lots of pictures!
Obviously the sun was right in my face but we hardly get any family pictures so I had to post this one... even though the lighting is weird!
Daniel was going back to his "baby" days! Since this was Daniel's car seat when he was little... it just made me realize how quickly time goes by! He is so big now... he came home in this car seat when he was just a little peanut... sigh!
So, the story behind the picture below! I hardly ever get a picture with my babies because I am the only always taking them... so, I asked Brendon to take a picture of me with them and he takes FOREVER to take a picture because he has to adjust every single setting on the camera before he takes a picture which drives me NUTS! So, this also doesn't work when 2 out of your 3 subjects are 2 years old and under... unfortunately, Katelyn had wiggled out of my arms and you can't see her pretty face and Daniel was tired of smiling=)

Katelyn was being passed around the table so I could get pics of her with everyone and Daniel started needing some attention and started asking me why I wasn't taking his picture! My sister who has her master's degree in family counseling quickly pointed this out to me! I am sure she did this so that he doesn't have to have sessions with her in his adult years because of me traumatizing him so I started taking more pictures of him quickly! LOL!
Katelyn LOVES and ADORES my dad... she literally has full conversations with him and he just eats it up! So... we are trying to take a picture and these two are in their own world not even paying attention to us=)
FINALLY!
My brother and Katelyn... these two are really sweet together as he is going to be a freshman this year and it is just so precious how she can make a teenage boy like him melt!
She was blessed to have both aunties and uncles at lunch with her!

Njemanze, Dr. James Uzondu
54, of Phoenix, AZ passed away on June 26, 2010. Dr. Njemanze (OB/GYN) was the Medical Director at Mountain Park Health Center from 2002 - present and had his own private practice from 1992 - 2002. He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Donna Kaye Njemanze, children Wilfred Lee James Chima, Princess Giovanni Devyne Amarachi and Quincy Daniel Onyewuchi. Services will be held on Saturday, July 3, 2010 at Christ Life Church, 1137 E. Warner Rd. Tempe AZ. Visitation begins at 12noon with Life Celebration Service following at 1pm. Services entrusted to EastLake Mortuary.
Saturday afternoon we attended the funeral of Dr. James Njemanze and it was one of the most amazing funerals that I have attended! Amanda and Christopher watched Daniel for the afternoon while we attended... we brought Katelyn with us and she wore a very cute outfit (one of her 3 fourth of July outfits!)

Canyon Lake
My sister and Christopher came in the Wednesday before July 4th so on Thursday we headed to Canyon Lake and rented jet skies! Gosh! We had soooooooooo much fun! Our little princess had fun too... it was actually cooler at Canyon Lake and we had a covered armada to keep her out of the sun... she always had someone keeping her cool with a spray bottle, a cool wet washcloth, and even a little bucket with cold water to take a dip in every once in a while!
I was reflecting back on Katelyn's short life... and just thinking what a blessing she has been to us! NOT ONE TIME has she ever had a fussy moment or even a second where she could not be calmed... she literally has hardly cried... I know she CAN cry because her first couple of weeks, she was not a fan of her car seat or being in the car. I have really enjoyed EVERY single minute with her because she has been sooooooooooooo easy to love, to cuddle and to gaze upon!
So, our family loves speed and adrenaline! We took Daniel out on the jet ski for a "baby" ride... you know, nice and slow... not making a wake then Daniel was like, "What kind of ride is this? Let's go!" So, Brendon and I let down the throttle and we took this 2 year old on a "real" ride and he LOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEDDDDDDDDD it! I couldn't believe it... the faster the better! I know many of you are probably shocked that I let Daniel go on that kind of ride given my very conservative parenting views but we all have our "areas" =) LOL!
Canyon Lake is BEAUTIFUL... and it is HUGE! You can just ride forever in the midst of the most beautiful mountains and rocks! The view is breathtaking and the water was sooooooooo cold and refreshing! The guys even did some cliff jumping and rope swinging into the lake!

4th of July Playdate
Daniel LOVES getting cuddles from his sister!
Daniel had his last gymnastics class in June and I don't plan on signing him up for any more mommy and me classes for a while because it is just too difficult to do them with Katelyn... plus he is turning 3 and most classes from this point on are not mommy and me classes. It is kind of bittersweet...On Wednesday, we went to a cupcake decorating playdate... 4th of July theme and they have their OWN splash pad in their backyard! I have decided that we weren't going to do any pool/ swimming playdates this summer as it is too hard to get in the water with Daniel and keep Katelyn inside... I can't split myself in half to watch them AND when it comes to water, I NEED to be right there next to Daniel. I also feel Katelyn is too little to not have my full attention... needless to say, the splash pad was GREAT! I could stay inside with Daniel and not have to worry about Daniel=)
Meet the Creature!
Again... another amazing event sponsored by our city... Meet the Creature! This lady has a license to have exotic animals in her home and she brings them to the Environmental Learning Center to share with children. She reminded me of Dr. Doolittle!

Yes... she has a custom home in a gated community but this rabbit has full reign of her home... AND it is only half grown!
Little Birdies... she was feeding them
Daniel wanted to hold Katelyn so he could show her the animals too! I am so blessed that he really loves his sister... he transitioned into being a BIG brother so easy!
The lady also brought a skunk, a snake, and several other creatures but it has been a while back so I don't remember them all! However, when we told Daniel we were taking him to this... he had in his mind ZOO ANIMALS so he was actually disappointed because there were no giraffes or elephants! LOL!

3 months - July 7, 2010!
So sweet and so beautiful! Still the best baby... seriously, if this girl decided to cry one day, I would rush her to the ER to find out what is wrong because she NEVER cries! My favorite thing now is going to get her when she wakes up in the morning... she is sooooooooooooo happy to see me! She starts kicking her feet and waving her arms... even breaks out into giggles! She knows how to make me stand a few inches taller... how can I not feel like the proudest mom around when I am greeted by her excitement every morning!
