March 2012

March!
My Mother In Law from South Africa was here for this whole month so the schedule we set up with her is that she spends 1 week with us then 1 week with my sister in law....

My friend Kristi also had her 3rd baby so I got to bring her dinner and meet her little bundle!

I was also on a very strict massage therapy program this month... I know you are probably thinking, "you poor baby, you had to get massages 1 - 2/ week!"  BUT let me just tell you these were DEEP TISSUE massages and they hurt like H***!!!!  This treatment was followed with my personal trainer and joint pain specialist who was doing DMS (deep muscle stimulation) treatments on me 3x/ week!  ALL THIS for my chronic joint pain... almost 1 year later, I can tell you that none of it worked:(  However, I did LEARN a lot about my body and the education was well worth it... these two women as they did their treatments on me also had some amazing conversations with me... so many times your physical health issues are a result of deeper stuff going on so they would ask me really deep questions.... they made me start really thinking about me.  I think most moms would agree with me that when you have small children in the house, you really don't think about yourself much... so, I would say the theme of March was ME!  It sounds really selfish but it was a very refreshing month and the practices that I learned this month, I still practice now.

We also had other stuff going on like preschool at our house one week this month, Paris coming over and doing educational type of activities with the kiddos, TBall every Saturday... one of the boy's mom's on the team was a professional photographer and she took amazing pics of the kiddos... I did an earlier post with some of those pics!

THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY MONTH.... My bestie's family takes a family vacation every year... I mean the whole family... Grandpa, Grandma, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, etc... in college, the family vacation used to be to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  As soon as Sara Grace and I became roomates, they would pay for us to meet them and they would spoil us rotten... nice resort, nice meals, fun activities and I started feeling like a part of their family after a few of these trips!  This meant a lot to some college girls that didn't have a lot of expendable cash!

Well... this year they decided to make the destination PHOENIX!!!  Guess who got invited?  ME!  It was an awesome trip and I have to tell you we felt like those two college girls again... no hubbies and no kids (well, Sara Grace's baby boy was in her belly!)

Rachel is the beautiful bride to be on the left (Sara Grace's sister) so we went to a bridal shop so she could try on some dresses... we ended at Sprinkles Cupcakes!  The beautiful lady on the right is Sara Grace's mom!

Dinner!  I think us girls chowed down on some STEAK this night!

Every morning we would meet the family for breakfast then go for a hike followed by some amazing pool time!
One day, Sara Grace's aunt decided us girls needed to spend an entire day at the spa!

Spending a day at the spa wasn't good enough though... we needed to rent our own private cabana!  So, that is what we did!  Grandma and Aunt are in the above picture!

No, we didn't leave that cabana for 5 minutes.... they just had to bring lunch to us!
That night we went to another amazing place for dinner... well, we were going crazy with pictures....

Yummo!

Apparently my children were quite rested as well!!!

That Sunday Daniel went over to Zander's house... they enjoyed the sleet on the trampoline!
That next week we had a fun morning at the zoo with friends!

The following Sunday at church we caught this:  Brody holding my daughter's hand and even had a flower for her!  OH NO!

Thank God she has a big brother to protect her!

Her 1st pig tails!!!
This girl LOVES her babies... she even has a little bag around her arm (aka... her diaper bag!)

Another highlight of our month was that we got to host one of Brendon and I's favorite authors PETE WILSON!  And, no, he is not related to us!  I picked up his book PLAN B to read back in the fall and it changed my life... at our church on March 28th he released his second book called Empty Promises and it also was a "Game Changer" book!  Highly recommend these books!  Anyway, Katelyn loves to hang out with me in the bathroom and get ready!  She was looking pretty cute too!

Daniel also had a special field trip to the Fire Station with his pre-school class the last week in March

Family Date Night for ICE CREAM!

The last day of the month was a Saturday... I did a Yoga Class, Daniel had a TBall game and then in the afternoon we had Teagan's birthday party at a local park!   YEAH for Saturday's!

That pretty much wraps up our March!
